I’m not sure whether last week Friday was real or not… ✨

On Friday the 21st of March, I had the pleasure of attending the Black Tech Achievement Awards as a finalist for the Inspirational Woman of the Year category, and this black-tie event did not disappoint 💃🏽!

My preparation for the event began more than a week before it actually took place (and far before I started testing my outfits). In fact, my preparation began in October 2023 when I founded Web3sy and decided that I wanted to help empower young tech enthusiasts with the means to learn more about emerging technologies. Almost 2 years later, this decision led me to share a room with other tech revolutionaries who are being recognised for their passion, effort and contribution to the field ❤️.

I am not too proud to admit that I cried that night. I cried for the stories and backgrounds that winners such as Yomi Tejumola came from, I cried for the impact that companies such as Cashblack brought to the people, and I cried at how lucky I was to have had my own mission, Web3sy, validated enough to put me in the room where it all happened 🥹.

I was surrounded by companies and people who made a difference. The winner of Danielle Udogaranya , founder of Ebonix, created products and assets that not only transformed Black avatar and hair representation in gaming but that I had already used in my lifetime, unknowingly (Thank you for the Sims assets!) 📩

The event was hosted by Remel London – the renowned radio host who we all know and love, and finalists were further shortlisted by accomplished serial entrepreneurs including Charlene Hunter MBE , Cecil Adjalo and Marc Abraham . The Black Tech Achievement Awards was founded by Dr. Raphael Sofoluke who sought to bring recognition to the Black talent in tech (and is also the mastermind behind the UK Black Business Show !) and the series of events were coordinated and facilitated by an all-star team including Melina Mavoungou ACCA , Christine-Lee Oyekan and Kofi Appau-Kwateng . All in all, the BTA Awards 2025 was a roaring success and for me, a blessed and humble debut into the world of high-achievers 🏆.

A final round of applause to my leading ladies and fellow finalists across the board, including Yetunde Animashaun, MSc , Som E-Agwuegbo , Ruth Osoba , Ama Annan , Busola Akindele , Nanri ouakhilatou Torou , Courell Watson and Maryleen Amaizu, PhD 👏🏽.

And congratulations to the winner of the category I was elected for, Cecilia Harvey , who I know firsthand, has been a pioneer for Women in Tech for many years. I can’t wait to follow everyone’s journeys throughout the remainder of 2025 🚀.

Looking forward to next year!
